Powder Coating

A continuous, 2 metre/minute conveyorised system is one of the few systems in Australia to produce powder coated parts that comply with AS 4506 - a rigorous specification for powder coated steel products that need to withstand the harsh Australian outdoors.

6 Stage Zinc Phosphate Pretreatment

This pretreatment is at the heart of the coating's outdoor longevity. 240 individual spray nozzles deliver over 20,000 litres/hour of chemical pretreatment.

Alkaline cleaner - to remove oil and give a clean substrate.
Grain refiner - prepares the surface to accept coating
Zinc phosphate - creates a rust barrier. Far more successful than more commonly applied iron phosphate.
Overflowing water - excess phosphate is rinsed off, using reclaimed water from stage 6.
Passivation Rinse - seals the crystalline surface ready for powder coat adhesion.
De-ionised rinse - Removes remaining chemical residue prior to drying.
